2nd Annual Taco Challenge

See your favorite local chefs compete in the Slow Food Taco Challenge! Taste their tacos, dips, and desserts prepared with fresh, local ingredients and cast your vote to select a winner in the following categories:

-Best Taco

-Best Vegetarian Taco

-Best Dip

Stay tuned as we reveal which Louisville chefs will be competing!
The Slow Food Taco Challenge will take place at ReSurfaced.
Admission to the event is FREE. Tastes are $3 each.

The money raised at The Slow Food Taco Challenge will go towards our Garden Grant Program where we donate funds to local school and community gardens that engage and educate children though hands on edible education. 

Slow Food Bluegrass is the local chapter of Slow Food USA. Slow Food Bluegrass is dedicated to bringing all members of our community around one table to understand the value of good, clean and fair food.

Slow Food Bluegrass presents the 3rd annual Fried Chicken Throwdown on Saturday, October 29th, 12:00pm - 4:00pm. This sustainably inspired culinary competition will be held at the Resurfaced lot in the Phoenix Hill Neighborhood.

Community Gathering at Bloom Elementary

Join us as we discover what the students at Bloom Elementary have been growing since they received the school garden grant last year. We'll be helping the kids weed, transplant and mulch followed by a community meal. Bring work gloves, shovels and a dish to share.

Bloom is also looking for a few garden donations including mulch, pea gravel, weed-block, paper yard waste bags and landscaping plants.
